UPEI PANTHERS  The UPEI Panthers, under the leadership of Team GM Brent MacDougall, posted a 3-1 record through the round robin and semi-final, topping off the championship drive with a solid 3-1 victory of a very strong UNB squad in the Championship game. Panther goaltender Andrew Sim picked up the Tournament MVP award showcasing a stingy 1.80 GA over 5 games while teammate Wade Sutton captured the Tournament leading scorer crown with 8 goals and 2 assists for 10 total points. UPEI won its first Molson Cup Championship in 2009 meaning the Panthers have captured tournament Trophy 2 of the last 3 years. |
